Biophillic Regeneration Series
Stinkhorn Witch’s Egg
This is the first piece in a series of performative experiential sculptures called The Biophilic Regeneration Series. These sculptures address the disconnect between humans and our environment. This is the Stinkhorn Witch Egg. The sculpture is worn as a backpack and taken out into the forest where it can create the experience of being at one with the surrounding by mimicking the Stinkhorn fungus. It can be deployed in any natural setting to allow reconnection with the earth.
This performance was filmed at the end of my art residency at I Park by Haemee Han.
This work was created while in the art residency program at I Park in Connecticut. It was a response to the the amazing fungus and slime molds I found.
